Lloyd Bell Appliances, built in 1935, became the Elephants Foot Antiques Shop. The flat roof, sleek row of bandings, and rounded corners made this building a treasure. In 1986, it was the first Streamline Moderne building identified and listed on the Art Deco Society of the Palm Beaches Historic Register. It was located at 310 South Olive Avenue, demolished in the 1990s, and is currently a senior residence parking lot.

North of downtown West Palm Beach and tucked away from the waterfront is a reemerging community steeped in architectural history. The private residence at 2813 Poinsettia Avenue, built in the mid-1940s, is in the Old Northwood Historic District. North Dixie Highway becomes Poinsettia Avenue after Twenty-fifth Street, the start of the up-and-coming district.
